TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

At CPS Football Academy, technical player development is at the heart of everything we do. Our sessions are specifically designed to help players become more confident, comfortable, and effective on the ball through high-quality coaching and professionally structured training programmes.

In many grassroots football environments, a large focus is naturally placed on team tactics and match preparation. While these areas are important, we believe individual technical development is one of the most important factors in helping young players improve long term. Our training is designed to complement a player’s team environment by providing additional focused work on the technical side of the game.

A Professional Technical Curriculum

Our curriculum was originally inspired by elements of the Portuguese academy development model, which places a major emphasis on technical excellence, creativity, confidence, and ball mastery from a young age. Sessions are built around developing core technical foundations including:
 

  • Ball mastery

  • First touch

  • Passing & receiving

  • Dribbling & running with the ball

  • Turning & movement

  • Decision-making under pressure

  • Coordination & agility

  • 1v1 attacking & defending
     

We focus on developing complete footballers across all positions. Whether a player is a defender, midfielder, winger, or striker, strong technical ability remains fundamental to success in the modern game.

Small Group Training Environment

We operate with a maximum 10:1 player-to-coach ratio to ensure every player receives high-quality coaching, regular feedback, and maximum involvement throughout each session.

  • More individual coaching time

Sessions are delivered in a fast-paced and realistic environment designed to replicate the speed and intensity of real match situations while still creating an enjoyable and supportive atmosphere for development.
